So, what’s HollyGOOD this week?
Minnie Mouse gets a new look
Yes, this is real news. Minnie Mouse is swapping her polka dot dress for a pantsuit designed by Stella McCartney. Feel free to read that sentence again.
Stella McCartney has designed Minnie Mouse’s very first pantsuit, and it’s gorgeous 😍 #DisneylandParis30 pic.twitter.com/jKSckBji36

“We share the same values, and what I love about Minnie is that she personifies happiness, self-expression, authenticity…plus she has such great style,” says Stella in a press video shared with CNN.
Alongside the new costume design, a part of the 30th-anniversary celebration for Disneyland Paris, Stella McCartney designed a special Minnie Mouse t-shirt to celebrate International Women’s Rights Day. The shirt will be sold online and in Stella stores starting March 8.
While some people (and news outlets) are irrationally freaking out about the announcement, others––including Stephen Colbert––are using it as meme fuel:

I don’t care what Minnie Mouse wears, but we need to talk about how Donald Duck just parades around with his cloaca hanging out.

The only way I’ll be upset about Minnie Mouse’s new pants is if they don’t have real pockets.

Suicide Squad fans can look forward to another spin-off
Deadline reports that writer and filmmaker James Gunn is working on a new TV show connected to the Suicide Squad universe. It looks like the series will center around one specific character, but there are no further details yet.
We’ll report more details as they emerge.

An eye-opening look at a ‘goth’ Nicolas Cage
In an interview with the L.A. Times, Nicolas Cage reveals that he has a pet crow named Hoogan.
The crow resides with Nicolas and his family in their Las Vegas geodesic dome home.
“Crows are very intelligent,” says Nicolas to the L.A. Times. “And I like their appearance, the Edgar Allan Poe aspect. I like the goth element. I am a goth.”

Hollywood celebrities defend Taylor Swift
Damon Albarn, frontman for the Gorillaz, mentioned that Taylor Swift doesn’t write her own songs in an interview with the L.A. Times.
Taylor Swift, who has written all of her own songs, tweeted her response:
@DamonAlbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really fucked up to try and discredit my writing. WOW. https://t.co/t6GyXBU2Jd
— Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) January 24, 2022
Hollywood came to her defense.
“She may have written some songs here and there with somebody. But I guarantee she did her part on it,” Dolly Parton said in an interview with Bustle.
Jack Antonoff sent out a tweet too, saying “i’ve never met damon albarn and he’s never been to my studio but apparently he knows more than the rest of us about all those songs taylor writes and brings in.”
Billboard published a list of all 54 songs Taylor released without any co-writers, although she has played a part in every song on every album..
Damon ended up apologizing by replying to Taylor’s tweet, but most of us are left confused as to how his responses were turned into “clickbait.”
Let’s remember, folks: if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all!
