The day you’ve been waiting for has finally arrived.
August 27: Second Annual National Cinema Day
More than 3,000 outlets participating are participating in National Cinema Day this Sunday. This means pretty much every first-run theater in the US, including AMC and Regal.
All tickets will be priced at $4, plus tax. If you go to an AMC theater, this price includes IMAX®, Dolby Cinema, and RealD® 3D. No premium-priced specialty tickets today.
We all know that the theater gets you on the good stuff – popcorn and soft drinks. However, AMC has got you covered on that too. They’ll be selling small popcorn and fountain drink combos for $5, plus tax.
What’s Opening on National Cinema Day
Gran Turismo, Bottoms, Retribution, The Hill, Golda, and Warrior King all open on Friday, August 25.
The 2023 summer blockbusters should still be running as well – Barbie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle: Mutant Mayhem and Blue Beetle.
If you prefer more of a subdued, independent selection, don’t sleep on AMC’s Artisan Films. Currently being featured are Oppenheimer, Oldboy (a manga-based tale of a man seeking revenge 15 years after being abducted and imprisoned), and Shortcomings, a Sundance-released comedy about single Asians in the Bay Area.
Buy Tickets ASAP!
Because this is 2023, we recommend getting your tickets online before taking your chances at the ticket counter. Last year’s National Cinema Day attracted over eight million moviegoers and brought in over $24M.
