BAFTA Games Awards Celebrates Historic Wins During 19th Annual Ceremony

Last night saw historic wins and recognition at the BAFTA Games Awards.  These awards celebrate the very best games of the past year and the people who made them. Here’s everything we know from last night’s ceremony.

God of War Ragnarök wins five BAFTA Games Awards

It’s no surprise that God of War Ragnarök swept the BAFTA Games awards after receiving 14 nominations. with stars Christopher Judge and Laya DeLeon Hayes won Performer in a Leading Role and Performer in a Supporting Role respectively. God of War Ragnarök also won the EE Game of the Year, a category voted by the British public.

Vampire Survivors Wins Best Game and Game Design During BAFTA Games Awards

In a huge upset, Vampire Survivors won despite being up against huge blockbuster titles such as Elden Ring and God of War Ragnarök. Vampire Survivors is a shoot-’em-up style game largely developed by lone coder Luca Galante. In the the game,players attempt to survive as long as possible. Obstacles include an ever-changing landscape swarming with monsters.

Shuhei Yoshida receives the BAFTA Fellowship

After last night, Shuhei Yoshida can now add BAFTA’s highest honour – the Fellowship – to his remarkable list of game-changing achievements. The BAFTA Fellowship is an award that recognizes  an individual’s outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, games or television across their career.

What would an awards show be without charming and inspiring hosts? The BAFTA Games awards had not shortage of hosts on stage, online and on the red carpet that kept the show going.

Julia Hardy and Inel Tomlinson, brought online audiences from around the world closer to the awards action.  They a panel discussion with top Twitch streamers Tubbo, CaptainPuffy, Leahviathan and Sharese on BAFTA’s Twitch.

Danielle Udogaranya, also known under her stage name: Ebonix s a Content Creator from London. Ever since 2015, she’s now well-known for creating custom Sims 4 Content. Her passion authentic representation drives her amazing work.

Popular host, Frankie Ward is known for hosting top esports tournaments, making her a natural fit for the ceremony. She’s hosted for major titles such as CS:GO and League of Legends, as well as E4’s GameMaster.

Aoife Wilson hosted on the red carpet. Fans might know the london-based creative as a writer, TV presenter, and video producer for Eurogamer. Wilson has worked hard to hone the craft of interviewing over the years, making her a delightful and skilled interviewer.
